This one-of-a-kind 5,500 sq. foot masterpiece required over seven years and more than 40,000 volunteer hours to complete.  Currently it is home to more than 500 locomotives, thousands of cars, both freight and passenger, and 72 scale miles of totally connected HO track.  The dream of founder/builder David Trussell back in 1998, this miniature railroad is known for its realistically detailed scenery, including more that 20,000 miniature trees and is housed in a 10,000 sq. foot open span building.

The museum also features hundreds of railroad artifacts, including Colorado and Southern caboose No. 10583, built back in 1919 and available for visitor inspection both inside and out. Unlike many public model railroads, the OC&E features wide, walk-in aisles that allow visitors to surround themselves with miniature realism and to mingle with museum volunteers who are happy to answer your questions. Typically, the railroad is controlled by a dispatcher on many days and by a one-of-a-kind, realistic computer system on others.
